Plan B prevents ovulation sometimes. Half the time its use is irrelevant because it’s taken too early (sperm would have died before egg release), or too late and pregnancy occurs. There’s a few day window where it fails to prevent ovulation but causes blunted LH production which can lead to implantation failure, hence the potential as an abortifacient. https://care-net.org/center-insights-blog/what-women-need-to-know-about-plan-b-one-step/
